Waterford Elementary School in Goshen Community Schools is home to a dual language Spanish immersion program. The pilot began this school year with the kindergarten cohort comprising the first class of students whose lessons are taught half day in English and half day in Spanish. The dual language two-way immersion program at Waterford provides kindergarten students with the opportunity to begin a journey toward bilingualism, biliteracy, and biculturalism in English and Spanish. Last week students at Waterford Elementary celebrating Hispanic culture during Festival Hispano and the Goshen News was there to cover the event. The children participated in several activities, enjoyed traditional Hispanic dishes.
