The Indiana Department of Education added two schools in the MSD of Pike Township to its list of Indiana STEM Certified Schools. These new STEM-certified schools are Fishback Creek Public Academy and Guion Creek Elementary.
In announcing their two STEM certified schools, MSD of Pike Township shared that according to the IDOE, “Schools are chosen to receive certification based on their commitment to teaching the STEM disciplines of science, technology, engineering, and math throughout the entire school. STEM certified schools exemplify a highly non-traditional approach to education, employing a great deal of inquiry, project based learning, community engagement, entrepreneurship, student centered classrooms, integration into humanities and related arts, and out of school STEM activities.”

Indiana’s urban schools offer Hoosier students a rich array of programs, services, and opportunities. IUSA appreciates the opportunity to share the stories that demonstrate what the schools have to offer and the many successes their students, faculty and staff achieve.
