If you want to be a superhero, perhaps you need a cape.  And if you are one of the almost 500 students at Elder Diggs School in Indianapolis Public Schools, you had the chance to make a superhero cape with the help of former Indiana Pacers, Darnell Hillman and Rik Smits.

The event was part of the Pacers’ Dream BIG Initiative, and was featured in the Indianapolis Star.  Follow the link to see photos of the students working side by side with these former Indiana Pacer stars.

Indiana’s urban schools enjoy strong community connections. This is demonstrated by the way in which schools and community partners cultivate relationships that benefit each other.
