Indiana Department of Education recognized 14 schools and districts for implementing “Promising Practices” designed to make a positive difference in the lives of students in the state. Half of the programs recognized are at Indiana Urban Schools Association member schools and districts. According to the Indiana Department of Education website this selection of Promising Practices are in the areas of student-centered programming, research-based practices, school climate and culture, family and community engagement, school safety, counseling support, and wrap-around services.
