The National Honor Society students helped improve the appearance of the school hallways as a project at Beech Grove High School for part of their service requirements. Students worked closely with the school to develop a plan to improve the appearance of the halls and encourage awareness of the social-emotional skills that are a focus at the school. Then, during fall break they worked an average of 15 hours each to complete the project.
In addition to the on-site project, the National Honor Society students have committed to three community projects, Toys for Tots, Pennies for Patients, and Operation Gratitude.
National Honor Society students must meet four requirements:
- A grade point average of at least 3.5 during freshman and sophomore year (Junior Year Induction) or a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.5 during freshman, sophomore and junior years (Senior Year Induction)
- Demonstrate Leadership
- Commitment to service
- Demonstrate Standards of Good Character
