Congratulations to MSD Warren Township students, Justice Massey (senior) and Miranda Jeffris (sophomore), of the Warren Central High School Fine Arts Department. Their artwork selected for awards for the 2017 Scholastic Art & Writing Competition for the Central and Southern Indiana Region. There were more than 2,500 pieces of artwork submitted from Indiana’s best young artists.

Justice (pictured bottom left) was awarded the Gold Key for her jewelry piece “Gyroscope”. This is the highest level of achievement attainable at the regional level. As a Gold Key Award winner, Justice’s piece will be considered for national-level recognition.  Miranda (pictured bottom right) was awarded the Silver Key for her drawing piece “Pointillism”. Approximately 10-15% of all regional submissions are recognized with a Silver Key Award.

As part of the ART. WRITE. NOW. Scholastic Art & Writing Awards Regional Exhibit at Clowe’s Memorial Hall, the students’ artwork will be on display from February 1-26.  Follow the link for hours and venue information.

This post was created in collaboration with Kim Asbury, District Communication Coordinator, MSD Warren Township.

Indiana’s urban schools offer Hoosier students a rich array of programs, services, and opportunities. IUSA appreciates the opportunity to share the stories that demonstrate what the schools have to offer and the many successes their students, faculty and staff achieve.
