Congratulations Forest Glen Robotics in MSD Lawrence Township
The Forest Glen Elementary School Robotics teams once again made it to the VEX IQ Worlds Competition. In 2016 one Forest Glen team went on to World Competition. This year, all three Forest Glen Robotics teams will be in Louisville, KY in April for the World Competition.
The Red team (10525B) won an Excellence Award at the Fall Creek Valley competition and another at the state competition. The Excellence award is essentially the highest award making them state champions, and qualifying them for a second consecutive year to move on to the World Competition.
The Gray team (10525A) won the Design Award, Programming Award, and a Skills Award. Their 88-point score placed them 6th in the state at Fall Creek Valley. It was the Skills Award that qualified them for Worlds. Additionally, the Gray team won a Design Award at the HCS competition.
The Teal team (10525C) won a STEM Award at Fall Creek Valley, earning them enough points at the end of the State competition to qualify for Worlds.
More than three times as many teams competed in 2017 as in the previous year. In fact, 95 of the 300 teams across the state participated in the recent state competition, and the Forest Glen team outperformed their 2016 appearance with nine trophies (compared to three last year).
To help students enjoy this trip, the school corporation is accepting financial assistance for the teams to participate through donations or sponsorships. Follow the link to learn more.

Indiana’s urban schools offer Hoosier students a rich array of programs, services, and opportunities. IUSA appreciates the opportunity to share the stories that demonstrate what the schools have to offer and the many successes their students, faculty and staff achieve.
