Congratulations to Monroe County Community School Corporation‘s (MCCSC) Addie Hammond and Grace Weiler.

Addie and Grace, 7th grade students at Batchelor Middle School, received an honorable mention in the C-SPAN StudentCam Competition. Their documentary was on school funding and featured Indiana State Superintendent Jennifer McCormick,  Indiana State Representative Jeff Ellington, MCCSC Board of School Trustees member Cathy Fuentes-Rohwer, and Batchelor Middle School Principal Eric Gilpin.

C-SPAN announced that there were only 150 prize winning documentaries from 2,903 films received by the over 5,600 students – the most entries in the thirteen years of the competition. Entries came from 46 states, as well as Washington DC, England, Germany, Singapore and Taiwan.
