GEMS is Girls in Engineering Math and Science – and Monroe County Community School Corporation in collaboration with the Monroe County Community Schools Foundation is preparing its first annual GEMS conference. The conference is open to all 5th and 6th grade girls. GEMS offers these youngsters an opportunity to work with female role models at stations set up for groups to participate in specific Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) disciplines. In addition to the community role models, each group of 5th and 6th graders will be hosted by a group of high school girls who will help them navigate the conference stations.
The GEMS conference is set for April 22, 2017 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Bloomington High School North. Registration information coming soon to the MCCSC website.
