marioncommunityschoolsEmily Phillippe, a freshman at Marion High School, was named state leader for an international network of support groups for teens with scoliosis.  The Curvy Girls Scoliosis Support Group of Indiana is a chapter of an international group that started ten years ago.  Emily’s story is about using her own experience to give back – or as it says in the Marion High School press release – to bring an emotional brace in helping others.

Emily, who personally faced the challenges associated with having scoliosis, or curvature of the spine, is fully recovered. While undergoing treatment, she benefitted from the Curvy Girls support group and now wants to help other girls dealing with this condition to get the support they need.
