Congratulations to Micah Nelson, 6-8th grade social studies teacher at the Center for Inquiry School 2, an International Baccalaureate magnet school program in Indianapolis Public Schools. As reported on the Indiana Department of Education Facebook page, Ms. Nelson taught secondary social studies in IPS for 13 years. She uses a progressive approach to building understanding, including experiential and project-based learning. She also focuses on literacy and writing skills in the content areas.
Ms. Nelson graduated from Purdue University in 2004 with degrees in history and education. She completed her master’s in teacher leadership at Butler University where she currently is pursuing a master’s in educational leadership.
