In a letter to educators today, State Superintendent of Public Instruction, Dr. Jennifer McCormick, shared that they are in the process of scheduling meetings across the state to solicit input from educators as they move forward with crafting the plan for the federal Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).  Confirmed dates and locations will be posted to the IDOE website.

The first one and one-half hour meeting is scheduled is for March 16th at 6:30 p.m. CST (7:30 p.m. EST) at Evansville-Vanderburgh Library, 960 Koehler Drive, Evansville, IN.

Dr. McCormick stressed that it is critical to hear from educators, parents, and community members to develop the best plan possible. She also announced that technical working groups are being established to support the department as they write the plan and invited those interested in serving on a technical working group to reach out to Patrick McAlister
