Students at Chandler Elementary enjoyed a visit from the Goshen Mayor Jeremy Stutsman.  Mayor Stutsman spoke with the fourth grade class about some of the issues facing the Goshen community. Students brainstormed with the mayor about potential solutions to these problems. They talked about parks, graffiti, and becoming a welcoming community. And, the students also learned about the Mayor’s responsibilities and how much Mayor Stutsman loves his job and the people of Goshen.

This post was created in collaboration with Lori Martin, Executive Assistant to the Superintendent/PR, Goshen Community Schools.

Indiana’s urban schools enjoy strong community connections. This is demonstrated by the way in which schools and community partners cultivate relationships that benefit each other.
