The Army of Angelo to hold a Charity Basketball Game for Cancer Patient Angelo Wilford
“I have Cancer but Cancer does not have Me!”
This is the motto of Angelo Wilford, a student at IU Northwest, who was diagnosed in March of 2014 with Hystiocytic Sarcoma, a rare form of cancer. His willpower and drive have led him to far surpass his diagnosis of having only six months to live.
But the costs of receiving medical attention at Riley’s Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis has put a major financial strain on Wilford’s family.
“The Army of Angelo,” http://www.armyofangelo.org/, is a fundraising organization assisting not just Angelo but other children suffering with cancer and their families.
Saturday, October 22 at 2 pm, The Army of Angelo “Fight for It” Charity Basketball Game will be held at the 21st Century Charter School in Gary. The cost is $5 and all proceeds from this game will go to Angelo.
We support The Army of Angelo and are spreading the awareness of the battles cancer patients and their families must fight. This event will not only provide financial support to Angelo, but will show him the strength and love of the communities around him.
21st Century Charter School is located at 556 Washington St, Gary, IN. For more information, call 219-883-5743, Monday – Friday, 9 am – 3 pm.
