Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation’s McGary Middle School students were delighted to pose with the oversized check to express public appreciation to Lieberman Technologies, their PBIS partner.
Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation’s (EVSC) McGary Middle School is the recipient of a $5,500 donation from Lieberman Technologies. Lieberman, located in Evansville, offers technology support to a diverse set of clients, including EVSC. With input from the school, Lieberman created a state-of-the-art PBIS app that allows staff to scan the barcode on each student’s ID badge to record incentive points any time they are observed “doing the right thing.” In this way, the points earned by students are easily tracked and stored so students can use them in the school’s PBIS store.
PBIS is the Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports model for supporting the social and behavioral environment. It uses preventative and responsive approaches to help build a culture of positive behaviors in classrooms and schools. Students are recognized and rewarded for the positive things they do throughout the day. The model also offers a structure of interventions for students who need additional support.
