Congratulations Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation. EVSC’s Southern Indiana Career & Tech Center was named to the 2017 Elite 50, making them one of the top 50 secondary school hospitality programs in the nation!
More than 350 schools designated as Hospitality Programs of Distinction were invited to apply for this honor. EVSC’s program was selected based on the high quality of hospitality training and experiential learning opportunities offered for its students.

The hospitality program is part of the Culinary Arts curriculum preparing students for occupations and higher education programs of study related to the entire spectrum of careers in the food industry: including (but not limited to) food production and services; food science, dietetics, and nutrition; and hospitality and tourism.
In addition to hospitality programs, the EVSC Southern Indiana Career & Tech Center is a “hub for the development and delivery of advanced career and technical education, workforce development and training for the entire southwest Indiana region. High school students from North and South Gibson, Spencer, Posey, Vanderburgh and Warrick counties can receive classroom and hands-on training in 22 diverse areas of study using the latest emerging technologies and equipment at the South Indiana Career & Technical Center.

Full STEM Certification is awarded to schools or programs that demonstrate a commitment to providing high-quality STEM programs in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and math, while preparing students for success in the 21st century. STEM Certified Schools must demonstrate a commitment to employing inquiry and project based learning, community engagement, student-centered classrooms, and out-of-school STEM opportunities.
