- MaiLan Brown, a senior studying at MCIT is the recipient of the Indiana Award for Excellence in the student category. Bown is interested in chemical engineering, received the Technical Honors diploma, is a member of the National Technical Honor Society, the National Honor Society, an Outstanding Character Kiwanis Club of Indianapolis recipient, and the MCIT Outstanding Civil Engineering and Architecture student. She also is a U.S. synchronized swimming all-star and community volunteer.
- Kevin Kelly and MCIT’s IT-Networking received the Award for Pathway. The award is for the development and implementation of a four-year IT networking plan for students with national certifications and employment opportunities. The pathway is designed to provide students with skills and nationally recognized industry certifications that allow them to enter the computer technology field as certified technicians. Additionally, the program helps prepare students for a college future in a number of advanced degree programs in computer science.
- Don Sheets and Clarence McGowen, instructors for Auto Service Technology and Collision Repair received the Award for Excellence for partnership with the Ed Martin Automotive Group. The partnership helps the school align its classes with current industry standards. It gives students exposure to all aspects of the industry, including building the physical parts of the program where students are prepared for post-high school careers.
