IUSA joins MSD of Lawrence Township in congratulating the many successful Lawrence North High School Immersion and Spanish students. This year’s classes attained national recognition for excellent performance on the 2018 National Spanish Examination. Students from Lawrence North earned a total of 8 Gold, 11 Silver, 24 Bronze medals, along with 51 Honorable Mentions. Congratulations to the students and the professional educators who helped these students prepare!
The National Spanish Examinations are a motivational contest to recognize student achievement in the study of Spanish and to stimulate further interest in the teaching and learning of Spanish. The exams are standards-based assessments which evaluate both content (what a student knows) and performance (what a student is able to do) over various levels of secondary instruction (grades 6-12). The mission of the National Spanish Examination (NSE) is to recognize student achievement and to promote language proficiency in the study of the Spanish.

Indiana’s urban schools offer Hoosier students a rich array of programs, services, and opportunities. IUSA appreciates the opportunity to share the stories that demonstrate what the schools have to offer and the many successes their students, faculty and staff achieve.
