Thanks to the support from community voters in 2014, Concord Community Schools has been moving ahead on their plans for one-to-one computing for students in a blended learning environment designed to enhance student learning. In this phase of the project, teachers are commencing training on new technologies that facilitate the blended learning education model.
Last school year, Concord updated many in-class resources. And they invested in working with school principals to help them be better instructional leaders. This school year the emphasis moves to training teachers for the blended learning classroom experience.
Blended learning combines classroom learning with online learning, allowing some control in the time, pace and place of their learning. Concord is adopting the model in a studied and thoughtful manner that includes planning, training, book studies, and implementation.
