Goshen Community Schools proudly shared the story of Olivia Salisbury from Chandler Elementary School – a young girl whose Valentine’s Day was made extra special when she was recognized with a special in-class pizza party by Homes for Heroes.

Olivia wanted to celebrate her birthday by delivering thank you cards to the Goshen Police Department.  When Homes for Heroes saw the photo on the Goshen Police Department’s Facebook page, they decided to honor Olivia’s generosity with a pizza party at school.

Indiana’s urban schools are nurturing caring, compassionate youngsters who are committed members of their communities.  Olivia’s story is one example of this care and community connection.  Follow the link to see how this story aired on WSBT22, helping the entire community learn more about Olivia and her good deed.

Indiana’s urban schools enjoy strong community connections. This is demonstrated by the way in which schools and community partners cultivate relationships that benefit each other.
