Imagine if you will, a 14-year old middle schooler building a working recorder with a 3D printer. That is exactly what is happening in Anderson Community School Corporation for Alex Gilley from Highland Middle School, a likely future mechanical or electrical engineer.
We shared a story about Alex on the IUSA blog in January, and he is now the star in a feature article in the Herald Bulletin. Follow the link to read more about Alex, his music and technology teachers, Myron Taylor and Brandon Bailey, and this project that ties music and technology in all new ways.
This post was created in collaboration with Jason Stecher, Highland Middle School, Assistant Principal for Operations, Anderson Community School Corporation.
Indiana’s urban schools offer Hoosier students a rich array of programs, services, and opportunities. IUSA appreciates the opportunity to share the stories that demonstrate what the schools have to offer and the many successes their students, faculty and staff achieve.
