Tenth Street Elementary School in Anderson Community School Corporation is a committed community partner. During November, they served 83 families (431 household members) through their School Food Distribution Program, ensuring access to a wide variety of food leading into the holiday week!
Anderson acknowledges their many community partners who make this possible. Special thanks to the more than 67 volunteers who pitched in to set up, distribute, and tear down the event, including Brauchla Family Chiropractic Center (which also donated more than 2,000 items to distribute), East Side Church of God (ESCG), the Anderson University (AU) basketball team, and Tenth Street Elementary staff, and the 20+ AU soccer teammates who unloaded the trucks and set up the tables along with ESCG. The volunteers were rewarded with pizza and drinks as a thank you for their continued dedication month after month.
Tenth Street Elementary says that they are looking forward to next month as the program continues to grow. St. Vincent Regional Hospital of Anderson will be bringing Santa to meet and greet families! Distribution in December takes place in a short 24 hours prior to the winter break!
Tenth Street Elementary has an amazing team of people making this program possible, and we join Anderson Community Schools in congratulating them on all the hard work and the positive impact they are making in the community.
