Every student in the Elkhart Community Schools is participating in the district-wide Elkhart Education Foundation’s “12 Days of Giving” campaign. In addition to the fundraising aspect, the Foundation also designed activities to enrich a culture that recognizes the importance of letting others know they are appreciated. As part of the campaign, the Foundation provided note cards for students to use as they write expressions of gratitude to faculty and staff. Teachers, paraprofessionals, bus drivers, custodians, and food service staff will be receiving letters from the students acknowledging how that individual made a positive impact, boosting spirits and helping children learn the importance of gratitude and appreciation.

Indiana’s urban schools are places where children also learn what it is to be a thoughtful citizen. One example of this is the 12 Days of Giving campaign in Elkhart Community Schools. Thanks to the Elkhart Education Foundation for promoting this positive spirit!
